Overview

Sus Day is a First Person Shooter where Players must defend their bunker from the invading Imposters. This was a solo project for a class, and I designed/developed everything myself. My main focus for this game was Gameplay since I wanted all the basic mechanics to work. This also won an award at my school's "Kinematifest" festival for best independent game that I submitted after I was finished developing.
The Process
(1)

- Player Movement
- Shooting
- Enemy Behavior
I wanted to make the basic mechanics first since that would be the core of the gameplay.
(2)

- Replaced Enemy Blocks with Imposter Models
- Added Bunker and Landing Craft
- Added an M16
The next step was to make the base level since I wanted the enemies to spawn in a boat. Then I added another gun for a little bit of variety.
(3)

- Decorated the Level to a Beach
- Adjusted Enemy Spawn Position
- Added Recoil for Pistol
- Added Ammo Counter (Bottom Right-Hand Corner)
The next step was to decorate the Level since the play area was a bit boring to look at. The recoil is meant as a punishment for shooting to fast.
(4)

- Improved UI
- Added more Enemies
I realized that the UI was too small, so I scaled it up. Then I wanted a Score system. I added a Hotkey menu for any Players who wouldn't know the controls. Lastly, I added more enemies for increased difficulty the longer you play.
(5)

- Added Guitar Gun
- Added Final Boss Wave
The last finishing touches was me putting a little bit of personality. The boss was added to end the game when you killed it. I added the Guitar because I thought it would be cool to shoot out deadly notes

This game won Independent Game at my school's "Kinematifest" festival. I submitted my game just to see what would happen since any schoolwork is accepted. I was just surprised that my game won because it was a joke for me. But I'm glad I submitted it.
